CityPlace Burlington is providing a variety of much-needed downtown housing for Vermonters. 272 apartments will bring new residents to the center of Burlington, with 55 units added to the City’s permanent inclusionary zoning rolls. CityPlace Burlington will be a place to live, work, eat, shop, learn, and play in a connected, vibrant, and thriving downtown.
Neighborhoods. CityPlace Burlington is going to revitalize the community by connecting people, creating neighborhoods that will enhance, energize and improve downtown. New services, such as an early childhood education center, community space, walk-in medical clinic and revitalized retail will serve both onsite residents and visitors.
Environment. CityPlace Burlington will feature state-of-the-art stormwater handling, LEED Gold® certified, environmentally-responsible construction, and renewable energy and energy efficiency measures, serving as a lead partner in Burlington’s District Energy initiative.
Connectivity. CityPlace Burlington is restoring streets, improving the connectedness of our walkable city, and supporting sustainable transportation initiatives. We will accomplish a long-sought City goal of expanding connections between the Church Street Marketplace and Lake Champlain. Newly-restored blocks at St. Paul and Pine Streets will allow easier flow of pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles.
Technology. CityPlace Burlington will be implementing Smart Building technology, creating data-rich environments, increasing energy efficiency, productivity, security. Residents, businesses and retail will have access to the latest in security, automation and connectivity.
